RECOMMENDATION:
City staff is recommending that the City Council approve a closure of City Hall.
ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED?
No No
BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City is currently in the process of updating its Emergency Operations Plan with Jerry Streich from
Capstone Public Sector Solutions. During said process, it was identified that there was a need for staff
training in emergency management.
Jerry has already provided an emergency management training session to the Public Works, Parks and
Recreation, and Public Utility departments. The next training session needed would be with Administrative
staff at City Hall.
Given the small number of staff involved with the training, City staff is recommending a three (3) hour
closure of City Hall so that each employee can attend the same session, which is also more efficient from a
time investment and cost perspective.
The Administrative Subcommittee was presented with this information at their April 13, 2022 meeting,
with recommendation for consideration by the City Council.
