RESOLUTION FOR REJECTING BIDS,
REVISING PLANS AND SPECIFICATION,
AND ORDERING REBID
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego received two bids on July 6,1994 at 10:00
AM for Public Improvement Project 94-39, Construction of a Non -Community
Water Supply,
AND WHEREAS, said bids exceeded the Engineer's estimate for the project,
AND WHEREAS, the Otsego City Council has determined, after a verbal
report from the City Engineer, that it would be in the best interest of the City to
rebid the project,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Otsego City Council that all bids
received for Public Improvement Project 94-3a on July 6, 1994 be rejected.
ALSO, BE IT RESOLVED by the Otsego City Council that plans'and specifications
be revised upon the recommendation of the City Engineer as follows:
1. The contract period for completion be extended from 74 calendar days to 100
calendar days and,
2. The contract specifications be revised to allow for alternative bidding in relation
to the pitless unit required for the project.
ALSO BE IT RESOLVED by the Otsego City Council that it approves actions
requiring the City Clerk to prepare and cause to be inserted in the Elk River Star
News and in the Construction Bulletin magazine, an advertisement for bids upon the
making of such improvement under such revised plans and specifications. The
advertisement shall be published for ten days, shall specify the work to be done, shall
state that bids will be opened and considered by the Council at 10:00AM on August
2, 1994 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Otsego, Minnesota Any bidder
whose responsibility is questioned during the consideration of the bid will be given
an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be
considered unless accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or
certified check payable to the Clerk for five percent of the amount of each bid.
