Held Nov. 2, 1978.
State of Minn. The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this 2nd
Co. of Wright day of Nov. 1978. Lloyd Beaudry, Chairman, Virginia
Town of Otsego Bistodeau and William Schulz, Supervisors, Betty
Adkins, Assistant Clerk, Jerome Perrault, Clerk,
Louis Pouliot, Treasurer, were present.
The meeting was called to order by Lloyd Beaudry, Chairman. Pete
Merges appeared before the Board to discuss additional salary he felt
was due him for last years assessing as the valuation at the time he
did the assessing was higher than the valuation his salary was based on.
Motion was made by Lloyd Beaudry to pay Pete Merges an additional
$484.01 as final payment for the assessment year of 1977 based on the
valuation figures available in August of 1978. Seconded by William Schulz,
passed unanimously.
Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry to approve a side lot setback variance
for Dwight McKenzie from 15 ft. to 121/2 ft. for a pole building 19'X30'.
Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously.
Clifford Lundberg, Attorney, appeared before the Board to request a
hearing on a petition to vacate those parts of Fifth, Sixth, Seventh,
Eighth, andG Streets lying in the Wil Nordin property in the Otsego Town -
site
Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry that a hearing on the petition be
held Dec. 5, 1978 at 8:00 p.m. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unan-
imously.
Dave Reemts appeared before the Boare to request a permit to build a
30' X 38' addition on his existing garage and also wishes to rezone his
property from agruculture to commercial. The Board advised his he will be
on the agenda at the next meeting of the Otsego Planning Commission on
Nov. 9, 1978 and they will evaluate his request.
Ken Ashfelt appeared before the Board to explain progress on the
Bituminous Road project of 80th St. and Mason Av. He said the blacktop
was completed and there was some ditch work and driveway work remaining
to be done.
Motion made by Virginia Bistodeau to have boring tests make on 80th
St. and Mason Av. to see if the road meets specifications and requested
Ken Ashfelt to arrange for the tests. Seconded by William Schulz, Passed
unanimously.
Bill Radzwill and Dennis Plane appeared before the Board to discuss
bonding for the road projeets of Walesch Estates and 80th St. and Mason
Av. The Town Board will advertise for bids on the sale of $205,000.00
in General Obligation Bonds and the bids will be received on Nov. 20,
at 2:00 p.m.
Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry to adopt the following resolution provid-
ing for the sale of $205,000.00 General Obligation Bonds'of 1978.
Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry that the Township send two represen-
tatives from the Township Planning Commission to a Planning Seminar on
Dec. 7 and Dec 8, 1978 at the Radisson South put on by the State Plan-
ning Agency. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously.
A bid was received from Daleiden Plumbing and Heating to install a
new 140,000 B.T.U. oil furnace with 9 registers and a 20" X 20" return for
$2,133.00 and install 1155 sq. ft. of cellulose insulation for $762.00.
Motion made by Virginia Bistodeau to accept the bid for insulation and
table action on the furnace bid until other bids were received. Seconded
by William Schulz, passed unanimously.
Proceeding as a board of audit, the Town Board audited and allowed
verified accounts Nos. 199 to 224 inclusive. On motion, meeting adjourned.
