04-02-1979 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 2nd day of April, 1979. Lloyd Beaudry, Chair - Town of Otsego man, Virginia Bistodeau, William Schulz, Super- visors, Betty Adkins, Asst. Clerk, Jerome Per- rault, Clerk, Lewis Pouliot, Treasurer, were present. The meeting was claled to order by Chairman Lloyd Beaudry. Minutes of the March 19, 1979 Town Board meeting were approved as read. David Selinski appeared before the Board to complain about the con- dition of 62nd Street by his residence and the lack of snow plow service during the winter. There is a hill that is very difficult to drive up and lacks sufficient gravel. Betty Adkins reported that Meyer-Rohlin, Township Engineer, had checked the road last Thursday (March 29) and would be making his recommendations as to how to improve the road. Motion by Bill Schulz to wait until the Board receives the engineers report and then abide by his recommendations to improve the road. Secon- ded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. The Board will notify the residents along the road what the recom- mendations are before any action is taken. The Board interviewed Gordon DeMars regarding CETA position of main- tenance assistant. The job includes assisting in road maintenance, cut- ting weeds, etc., repair work on the Town Hall, installing street signs. The pay scale is $4.80 per hr. for a 40 hr. week, %i hour lunch break and 2 - 15 min. breaks during the day. He will be covered by the Township Workmens Compensation and Liability Ins.. He will not be covered for medical and hospitalization ins.. Motion made by Virginia Bistodeau to hire Gordon DeMars for the Maintenance Assistant position commencing work on April 9, 1979. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. As Betty Adkins is no longer covered by CETA the Town Board discus- sed her future empolyment. Betty requested that she work 24 hrs, per week, 4 days a week, Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Motion made by William Schulz to hire Betty Adkins for a minimum of 24 hrs. per week at $5.15 per hour with mileage to be paid at .16 per mile, and with extra paid hours for meetings attended. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to pay the repair cost on Betty Adkins electric typewriter damaged while being used for township purposes. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. The Town Board instructed Edward Greninger to check all Town roads for hazardous conditions and to order signs to properly mark them. Following the public hearing on the proposed use of Revenue Shar- ing Funds, the Board proposed the use of Revenue Sharing Funds for the following purposes: Betty Adkins wages $8,000.00, Street Signs $3,000. Weed Sprayer $1,000.00, Blacktop Maintenance $4,000.00, Town Hall re- pair $1,000.00. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to pay the town clerk a wage of $75.00 per month for the ensuing year, with an additional $25.00 for the second meeting of the month. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously. Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to pay Lewis Pouliot a Treasurer salary of $40.00 per month for the ensuing year. Seconded by William Schulz, pas- sed unanimously. Page 2. Continuation of minutes of April 2, 1979 meeting. Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry to pay Carl Swenson $10.00 for serving as moderator of Annual Town Meeting. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Motion made by Lloyd Beaudry to contact Elmer Beaudry regarding Errors and Omission Insurance for Town Officiers. If the premium is $350.00 or less request Elmer to order the policy, if more will be disucssed at next board meeting. Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. Motion made by William Schulz that all building permits be signed at regular town board meetings. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously. Proceeding as a board of audit, the Town Board audited and allowed verified accounts Nos. 2 to 42 inculsive. On motion, the meeting adjourned.
