06-18-1979 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this
County of Wright 18th day of June, 1979. Lloyd Beaudry, Chairman,
Town of Otsego Virginia Bistodeau, William Schulz, Supervisors,
Jerrome Perrault, Clerk, Betty Adkins, Asst. Clerk
were present. Meeting was called to order by Chairman Lloyd Beaudry.
Minutes of the June 4, 1979 meeting were approved as read.
Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to approve a set-up license for Stuart
Turnquist (Pattern Station Conference Center) subject to yearly renewal.
Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously.
Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to advertise for bids on seal coating
roads in 3rd and 4th additions of River Ranch. Bids to be received on or
before 8:00 p.m. July 16, 1979, on a unit price per sq. yd. requesting
a minimum of .35 gal.of oil per sq. yd. and 50 lbs. of 3/16" buckshot
rock per sq. yd. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously.
Don Control Ordinance revisions were discussed. Licensing will be
required with an initial fee of $5.00 with a renewal in one year to con-
sider whether a renewal fee will be charged. All dogs over 6 months of
age will be required to have a license and rabies shot will be required
before a license can be obtained. Metal tags will be issued when the
license is obtained. No dogs will be allowed to create a nuisance by
excessive barking and howling that disturbs the peace and quiet of any
neighborhood.
Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall be sub-
ject to a fine of $10.00, second offense $25.00 fine, and third offense
$50.00 fine.
Weed control problem was discussed. Betty Adkins reported that the
County has hired Jack Pribyl as County Weed Inspector on a part time basis
and will come out only on request. Betty Also reported that complaints
have been Walesch Estates that weeds are growing on abondoned lots.
May Baufield's application to rezone her farm to commercial was dis-
cussed. The Board advised they have approved the application. Mr. Roskaft
advised the Board that the Otsego Planning Commission feels this should
be tabled until Otsego has its own Planning and Zoning Ordinance and
wishes to go on record that he does not approve rezoning the land to com-
mercial at this time.
Gordon Ebner expressed the opinion that a shopping center will in-
crease traffic on Co. 130 and also asked if the shopping center would
increase the need for water and sewer in the area. The Board replied
that the shopping center will be required to have their own sewer and
water system and would not affect the rest of the area.
Virginia Bistodeau reported that CETA has turned down the applicat-
ion for funds to improve the County Park in River Ranch. Virginia stated
that the Wright Co. Park Commission will be having their monthly meeting
soon and felt the Board should attend the meeting and request some funds
or assistance to improve the park.
Virginia Bistodeau reported that CETA will pay Gordon DeMars's
wages thru September and will pay half of his wages for October, Nov-
meber, and December.
