04-21-1980 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 21st day of April, 1980. Lloyd Beaudry, Chair Town of Otsego man, Virginia Bistodean, William Schulz, supor- visord, Betty Adkins, Asst. Clerk, Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Lloyd Beaudry. Minutes of the April 7, 1980 Town Board Meeting were read and approved with two corrections. Virginia Bistodeau did not second the motion to raise Ed Greninger's wages to $8.75 per hour. The motion was seconded by Lloyd Beaudry and the vot on the motion was Lloyd Beaudry and William Schulz voted in favor and Virginia Bistodeau voted naye. The motion passed by a 2 to 1 vote. And Blain Midway All Pets, Inc. be advised to discontinue regular patrolling and provide service on call only. Joe Peavey appeared before the Board to request permission to sell lots 6 thru 10 of Block 78 of the Otsego Townsite. He owns lots 1 thru 10 of Block 78 and would like to retain lots 1 thru 5 where their home is located and sell lots 6 thru 10 for a future dwelling site. Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to permit Joe Peavey to sell lots 6 thru 10 of Block 78 of the Otsego Townsite with the provision they can be sold as a future dwelling site. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Ross Little appeared before the Board to discuss a bill he had received from the Township for grading up his driveway. He had asked Ed Greninger to grade up his driveway but then changed his mind and had the driveway gravelled. How ever he did not notify Ed Greninger and Ed came and graded up the driveway and the new coat of gravel was lots in the process. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to cancel the bill for grading the driveway and re-imburse him for half of the cost of the gravel to restore the driveway. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Pete Raatikka, Engineer, appeared before the Board to discuss the blocktopping project in Mississippi Shores 1st & 2nd Additions. The Board has applied for funding to State Dept.of Transportation for im- provements on 96th Street in connection with it being a spur route for the Mississippi Shores Park. As there will probably be a delay of a year in receiveng the funding there is some doubt whether it will be received, the Board decided to present the problem to the residents of the area and see if they wish to proceed now with blacktopping 96th St. or wait to see if the funding is approved. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to hold a public hearing on the Mis- sissippi Shores 1st & 2nd Additions bituminous surfacing project on May 12, 1980 at 8:00 p.m. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Ken Ashfelt of Meyer-Rohlin appeared before the Board and said he felt it was time to advertise for bids on Vasseurs 1st & 2nd Additions bituminous project and on 85th St. 1/2 mile east from Co. 37. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to advertise for bids on the bitum- inous surfacing project in Vasseur's 1st & 2nd Additions and 85th Street 1/2 mile Ease from Co. 37, with the bids to be received on or before May 19, 1980 at 10:00 a.m. and to be opened at 10:00 a.m. on May 19, 1980. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Page 2. Continuation of minutes of April 21, 1980 meeting. The bids will be reviewed at the regular town meeting on May 19,1980 at 8:00 p.m. Arlene Turnquist appeared before the Board to discuss her appli- cation for a permit to construct overnight facilities for her Pattern® station Conference Center. Motion by William Schulz to approve a permit for constructing overnight facilities for Turnquist s Pattern® station Conference Center as an orderly and reasonable expansion of her Conference Center to be issued as a non -conforming conditional use permit. Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. The Otsego Planning Commission had approved issuing the permit at their meeting in April 10, 1980 by a 4 to 3 vote. Vernon Hackenmueller and John Buttweiller appeared before the Board to discuss plans for Mr. IIackenmueller's store. They are now considering withdrawing their application to have Mr. Buttweiller's land annexed to the City of Albertville, leaving it in Otsego, and applying for a permit from the Town of Otsego and Wright Co. for the construction of his store and using his own well and septic tank. The Board advised them they have no objections to their plans and suggested they apply for a permit from the Wright Co. Zoning Admin- istrator. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to approve the following resolution: Be it resolved, that whereas the Town of Otsego has than 1200 people living in platted areas, it is exercising it's s powers as an Urban Township.
