06-02-1980 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 2nd day of June at 8:00 p.m. Lloyd Beaudry, Town of Otsego Chairman, Virginia Bistodeau, William Schulz, Supervisors, Jerome Perrault, Clerk, Betty Adkins, Asst. Clerk, Lewis Pouliot, Treas. were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Lloyd Beaudry, The minutes of the May 19, 1980 Town Board Meeting and the minutes of the Public Hearing on road improvements for Mississippi Shores 1st and 2nd Additions held May 21, 1980, were approved as read. The Town Board reviewed the fire contract as presented by the City of Elk River. The contract calls for a standby contract fee inthe amount of one mil per dollar of assessed valuation for the area they serve. Service calls will be at a rate of $225.00 for the first half hour and $75.00 for each subsequent half-hour or fraction thereof. The City reserves the right to provide service to the City first in the event a fire occurs at the same time in the City and Township. The Town Board requested an addition to the paragraph concerning fire calls on State Highways, to wit: The Township will not pay for fire calls on State Highways if the City does not bill the State within 30 days. Assessed valuation figures used shall be that of previous Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to accept the contract with revisions indicated Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. Motion by Virginia Bistodeau to reduce the speed limit on 80th St. from Co. 19 to Mac Iver Ave. from 45 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Motion by William Schulz to accept the contract between the Town of Otsego and M.L. Schendzielos, Inc. to rebuild 80th St. one mile west from Co. 19 as drawn up by attorney Bill Radzwill at the rates accepted at the May 19, 1980 Town Board Meeting and calling for a construction starting daye on or before July 14, 1980, and a completion date on or before Aug. 11, 1980. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously. Constables wages were discussed. The Board decided to leave them at the present rate of $16.00 per meeting. Motion by William Schulz to pay the assessor a salary of $5,000.00 for the assessing year from August 1, 1980 to August 1, 1981, salary shall be subject to yearly reviewal. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously The Treasurer gave the following report: General Fund Balance $53,078.85 Revenue Sharing Balance 14,461.70 Fire Fund in the red 1,399.26 Bond Fund in the red 4,181.17 Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed verified accounts Nos. to inclusive.
