02-02-1981 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this 2nd County of Wright day of February, 1981 at 8:00 p.m. Lloyd Beaudry, Town of Otsego Chairman, Birginia Bistodeau and William Schulz, Supervisors, Jerome Perrault, Clerk and Betty Adkins, assistant clerk, were present. Meeting was called to order by Chairman, Lloyd Beaudry. Minutes of the Jan. 19, 1981 town board meeting were approved as read. Mr. & Mrs. Keith Cable appeared before the Board to request a permit for a mobil home to be placed on their property for their elderly parents. They have a 26 acre lot. The board advised them they cannot approve the permit as it is a violation Of the County Ordinance. Under the present provision of the County Ordinance the only allowed use is as an accessory to a farm and the person using the mobile home must be actively engaged in operation of the farm. Motion by William Schulz to have the Cables present their request to the OtsegoPlanning Commission for their consideration at their next meeting on Feb. 12, 1981. Seconded by Lloyd Beaudry, passed unanimously. Joy Swenson and Barbara Dhein presented a petition containing 51 signatures to the board requested that the question of whether to adopt a 5 member board to govern the Township be placed on the ballot at the Annual Town Meeting on March 10, 1981. Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to accept the petition and preceed with requirements to have it placed on the ballot at the Annual Town Meeting on Mar h 10, 1981. Seconded by William Schurz, passed unanimously. A new contract for fire protection with the City of Monticello was discussed. The City has recommended an increase in the Standby Contract Fee from $300.00 to $600.00 per year with an hourly rate of $200.00 per hour for the first hour and $100.00 per hour for each additional hour of fire protection service. The City of Monticello will accept the alternative of a contract fee of $400.00 per year plus an hourly rate of $400.00 for the first hour of service and $100.00 per hour for each additional hour or a second alternative of a contract fee of $200.00 per year plus an hourly rate of $500.00 for the first hour of service and $100.00 per hour for each additional hours. Motion by Lloyd Beaudry to accept the contract palling for a Standby Contract Fee of $600.00 per year and an hourly rate of $200.00 per hour for the first hour and $100.00 for each additional hour of service per call. Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. Motion by William Schulz to postponethe mext town board meeting from Feb. 16, 1981 to Feb. 17, 1981 as Feb. 16 is a legal holiday. Seconded by Virginia Bistodeau, passed unanimously. Proceeding as a board of audit, the Town Board audited and allowed verified accounts Nos. 416 to 448 inclusive.
