04-28-1982 Board of Review MinutesState of Minnesota County of Wright Town of Otsego Clerk, Rueben Bonk, were present. Tom Constant anpeared before the Board to ask why his taxes in- creased so much this year. He owns 6 acres in Section 20, Township 121, Range 23. His address is 11776 NE 85th Street, Elk River, MN. Mr. Bonk explained his valuation increased 121/2% and any other increases in taxes would be due to higher mill rates. Richard Saathoff appeared before the Board to complain that his valuation was too high. He owns lot 5, block 2, Vasseurs Oak Grove Estates, 2nd addition. Rueben Bonk explained that his valuation was comparable to others in the same area. Fideles Kroll appeared before the Board to complain that his lot was valued too high. He owns 6.8 acres in Section 20, Township 121, Range 23. The lot is valued at 16,000.00. Rueben Bonk explained that his valuation would go down next year because of change in classification. Janet Wisk appeared before the Board to request how valuation was determined. She lives in lot 11, block 2, Great River Acres, 1st ad- dition. Rueben Bonk explained that the valuation is determined by the value of the lot plus the value of the home and any other building. Mary Reich appeared before the Board to complain about the increase in valuation and taxes, an increase of 1000% in 7 years. He owns 15 acres in Section 35, Township 121, Range 23 non -Homestead. Rueben Bonk explained that the increase was due to inflation and overall increase in land values. Mrs. Richard Hartfield, who lives on lot 2, block 4, Otsego Acres 1st addition, appeared before the Board to ask why her valuation in- creased $4,000.00 over last year (present valuation at $46,472). Rueben Bonk explained it was to an increase of $1,000 on the lot and 10% increase in home value. This was an overall increase. Ed Gilbert, who lives on lot 2, block 2, Vasseurs Oak Grove Estate 1st addition, appeared before the Board to complain about the valuation on his home. He paid $29,000 for it last fall and is now valued at $43,168, a double wide mobile. He feels because of the poor construc- tion of the mobile, he paid too much at $29,000. Andrew Merges, Assessor and Rueben Bonk agreed to come out and check the home. Orlin Island, who lives on the SI; of lot 2, block 4, Vassuers Oak Grove Estates, appeared to complain about the valuation of thier home a 12 foot wide mobile home valued at $19,500. Rueben Bonk explained the increase was due to an increase in lot ,values and not an increase on the mobile home itself. Rodney Zettergren, who lives on lot 25, block 2, Vassuers Oak Grove Estates, tst addition, have a double wide mobile with a basement, valued at $44,022. He asked why the valuation keeps increasing. Upon checking the books, the Assessor discovered an error had been made and the valuation was $4,000 too high. Guy Rowe appeared before the Board to complain about his mobile home and lot value. Rueben Bonk said his lot value decreased from $11,000 to $10,000, and an error had been made on the valuation of the mobile. Marie Vasseur appeared before the Board to request that her pro- perty should be homestead instead of non -homestead. She owns lot 10, block 1, Vasseurs Oak Grove Estates. She has a home in another state also. The Board said that as she has a home in another state she would not be eligible for homestead. Joseph Feilen appeared before the Board to complain about the increase in valuation, They live on lot 9, block 1, Vasseurs Oak Grove Estates. Their lot and mobile is valued at $ 20, 407. Rueben Bonk explained that the increase was due to the increase in lot values (from $5,000 to $10,000). Trygoe Hull appeared before the Board to express concern over the valuation of his land. He owns 51 acres in Section 16, Township 121, Range 23. (non-homestaed). there are 26 tillable acres. He qualifies for Green Acres. Rueben Bonk explained that the valuation was about right according to the rent he receives. Bryan Olson appeared before the Board to explain that he has purchased a home for $50,000 last fall and the valuation is $53,342. He lives on lot 23, block 1, Island View Estates. Rueben Bonk explained that he had paid close to the actual value of the home. On Motion, the meeting was adjourned. Attest:
