and Floyd Roden, Supervisors; Betty Adkins,
Deputy Clerk; were present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman William Schulz. The
minutes of the September 7, 1982 meeting were approved as read.
Stewart Turnquist appeared before the Board to request a Condition-
al Use Permit and variance on the expansion of Riverwood Conference
Center. the Board reviewed the proposal. The Board agreed that the
denial by the Otsego Planning Commission on a basis that the request
did not fit in with the Comprehensive Plan was not reason enough to
turn the request down, and that more consideration be given to the
request by the Planning Commission. Floyd Roden asked how critical
is the expansion to the business? Turnquist responded that it is very
critical from a business standpoint. Again Turnquist made the point
that that the people using the facility do not like to share a room.
He mentioned that their facility was written up in Corporate Report
this year as one of the finest facility in the state. Douglas Linden-
felser moved to approve the request to expand the exsisting facility
as presented, seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously.
the "Off Sale" Liquor License ordinance was discussed, Township
Attorney Bill Radzwill suggested adding a sentence to page 2, #6 stat-
ing that applicants shall begin construction of a building within nine
months after being approved by the Public Safety Commissioner. This
was so moved by William Schulz, seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unani-
mously. The ordinance will now be published in the Elk River Star News.
The Board accepted Duane Lindenfelser's application for an "Off
Sale" Liquor License in the name of M.C. Liquor, accompanied by a
site plan of the proposed building.
