11-15-1982 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this
County of Wright 15th day of November, 1982, at 8:00 p.m. William
Town of Otsego Schulz, Chairman; Douglas Lindenfelser and Floyd
Roden, Supervisors; Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were
present.
The meeting %s called to order by Chair _n William Schulz. The
minutes of the November 1, 1982, meeting were approved as read.
Warren Phillips appeared before the Board to discuss his "Off
Sale" Liquor License and contruction of his business building. He
has purchased lot 6 (next to lot 5 on which the Tom Thumb store is
located) in 6th addition of Mississippi Shores, and will build his
"Off Sale" Liquor store on this lot. He has presented his plans to
the Otsego Planning Commission and they have given their approval.
The building will be 50' X 80' (2500 sq ft).
Motion by William Schulz to approve the plans as presented by
Warren Phillips for his "Off Sale" liquor store. Seconded by Floyd
Roden, passed unanimously.
Frank McCoy appeared before the Board to discuss his plans to
subdivide his farm. He wants to sell the building and 24 acres and
keep 40 acres on which he intends to build a new house. His farm is
located in Section 27, Township 121, Range 23, on the north side of
Co. #122. The Board requested that he present his plans to the Otsego
Planning Commission at their next meeting for their consideration.
William Schulz reported that the Otsego Planning Commission did
not take any action on the Township Comprehensive Plan at their last
meeting. The Otsego Planning Commision would like to have the Town
Board meet with them at their next meeting on December 2, 1982, to
discuss the Comprehensive Plan.
Mrs. Carol Melby requested a street light at the intersection of
Parkington Avenue and 96th Street. Motion by Floyd Roden to table
action on the request at this time to see if a light is needed. Second-
ed by William Schulz, passed unanimously.
William Schulz reported receiving a letter from Tom Sadowski,
Wright County Administrator of Zoning regarding a oversized sign of
Davids Bogg. He has notified Nancy McAlpin that a variance is needed
if the sign is to remain. They have not complied with the request for
a variance and legal action will be taken to have the sign removed. Mr.
Schulz has called Nancy McAlpin and informed her of this action. The
sign is located on the Ek of the NE' of the NE3 of Section 35, Township
121, Range 23, know as the Midwest Training Center.
Tom Sadowski sent a letter to William Schulz concerning Wayne
Hillukka operating an auto repair shop on his lot (lot 1, block 1,
Deerfield Acres). He has been notified that he cannot operate a bus-
iness like that in a residential area. Mr. Sadowski wants the Town
Boards opinion if the County should take legal action. The Board will
investigate the situation and notify Mr. Sadowski of their decision.
