02-07-1983 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 7th day of February, 1983, at 8:00 p.m. William Town of Otsego Schulz, Chairman,; Douglas Lindenfelser and Floyd Roden, Supervisors; Lewis Pouliot, Treasurer; Lani Will, Deputy Clerk; and Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman William Schulz. The minutes of the January 17, 1983 Town Board meeting were approved as read. Ronald Webber appeared before the Board to discuss the complaint about junk cars in his yard. He said he would like to keep 2 or 3 antique cars which he will confine in a fenced area and would like to have until spring to remove the rest of the cars. Motion by Floyd Roden to grant him until spring (May 1) to remove the junk cars. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Jerry Jirava appeared before the Board in regard to a complaint about junk cars in his yard. He has 3 junk cars and he asked for time until spring to remove them. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to grant him until spring (may 1) to remove the junk cars. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. A discussion was held on dog control problems. The County has a plan whereby they will sign a contract with the Township to provide dogpound facilities and pay half the costs of impounding dogs that are picked up. The County has an agreement with the City of Monticello to use their dog pound facilities. The Township would need to find a person to serve as dog catcher. Motion by Floyd Roden to enter into an contract with Wright County whereby the County will provide dog pound facilities and pay half the charges of inpounding the dogs. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. The Board requested Lani Will to place an ad in the Sherburne County Star News advertising for the position of dog catcher for the town of Otsego, compensation to be on a per hour plus mileage basis. The request of Alvah Hamlet for a variance to place a second home on a tract of agricultural land less than 60 acres was discussed. He has 53 acres which is divide by Wright County #39 and the two homes will be on opposite side of the road. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to approve the variance request of Alvah Hamlet. Seconded by, William Schulz, passed unanimously. The Board requested Lani Will to send a letter to Wayne Hillukka of 7848 Odean Avenue requesting him to appear at the next Town Board meeting to discuss the excess cars he has in his yard. The request of the Elk River School District for a contribution to help operate their swimming pool during the summer months was tabled at this time. County of Wright Page 2 Town of Otsego As the next Town Board meeting falls on a legal holiday (Feb. 21) Motion was made by William Schulz to postpone the next Town Board meeting from February 21, 1983 to March 1, 1983, at 8:00 p.m., and to cancel the meeting scheduled for March 7, 1983. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Proceeding as an Board of Audit, the Town Board auditied and allowed verified accounts Nos. 453 to 499, inclusive. On motion, the meeting adjourned.
