05-16-1983 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 16th day of May, 1983, at 8:00 p.m. Floyd Town of Otsego Roden, Chairman; Douglas Lindenfelser and Wil- liam Schulz, Supervisors; Lani Will, Deputy Clerk; and Jerome Perrault, Clerk; were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Floyd Roden. The minutes of the May 2, 1983, Town Board meeting were approved after one correction. The motion as read was: Motion by William Schulz to procure a letter of consent from Al Schwab to permit drainage the water away from 62nd Lane, and to place a 1" to 2" bituminous overlay to repair the surface of 62nd Lane. The minutes were cor- rected to read: Motion by William Schulz to place a 1" to 2" bit- uminous overlay to repair the surface of 62nd Lane. Gary Sorenson appeared before the Board to request a variance from the rear lot setback of 50ft. as required in the County Ordin- ance to 35ft. for a building he plans to build. He lives in Block 47 of the Otsego Townsite. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to approve the variance request. Seconded by William Schulz, passed unanimously. Myron Olson appeared before the Board to request a variance to rebuild a porch on an exsisting house located in Section 16, Town- ship 121, Range 23, just west of the County 39-County 37 junction. The porch must not be built beyond the exsisting off footings. Motion by William Schulz to approve the variance request of Mr. Olson to rebuild the porch. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. Pete Raatikka appeared before the Board to discuss the 62nd Lane repair project. He has discussed draining the water away from 62nd Lane with Martin Zilich by use of a storm sewer across his lot to empty into the river. This would be very expensive approximate cost of $18,000.00. Mr. Zilich and Mr. Sand would be one way to drain the water away from 62nd Lane. Pete Raatikka said permission would have to be obtained from the D.N.R. to have an open ditch to the river. Mr. Raatikka will get an estimate of the cost of an open ditch and contact the D.N.R. regarding the drainage problem. The Town Board did question whether it was the Township's responsibility to provide drainage for private property. Jerry Rinehart appeared before the Board to request a variance to construct a garage larger than 800 sq. ft. He plans to use it for storing cars. He lives at 9154 Parkington Circle on Lot 17, Mississippi Shores 3rd Addition. The Board requested that he present his variance request to the Otsego Planning Commission at their next meeting on June 3, 1983, for their consideration. Steve Schmidt and Dave Bullock appeared before the Board to see what action had been taken to have the junk cars removed from the Lots of Mark Posley and Ronald Webber. The cars are still there and the May 1, 1983, deadline has passed. The Board advised Lani Will to contact the County Attorney and have him take action to have the cars removed. Motion by William Schulz to re-appoint Ingill Roskaft to the Otsego Planning Commission for a 4 year term. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Clayton Berg's term on the Planning Com- mission has also expired but he has indicated he does not wish to continue. Town of Otsego The Board went on record as approving the proposed amendment to the Wright County Ordinance approving storage of Petroleum pro- ducts, storage and warehousing of grain and chemical products any where in an I-1 General Industry Zoning District.
