08-01-1983 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this County of Wright 1st day of August, 1983, at 8:00 p.m. Floyd Town of Otsego Roden, Chairman, Douglas Lindenfelser and Will- iam Schulz, Supervisors; Lewis Pouliot, Tresurer; Lani Will, Deputy Clerk; were present. Jerome Perrault was absent due to hospitalization. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Floyd Roden. The minutes of the July 18, 1983 Town Board meeting was approved as read. The Township has received two bids for the furnishing and hauling of 4,000 cubic yards (more or less) of class 5 gravel ( out of stock- piled gravel). The first bid is from Dennis Fehn Sand & Gravel of albertville. The bid is for 4000 cu yds at $3.67 per yard ($14,680), excluding the gravel tax of $.10 per yard. The second bid is from Norman Dehmer Excavating of St. Michael. The bid is for class 5 gravel delivered and spread on roads for $3.48 per cubic yards ($11,920), excluding the gravel tax of $.10 per cu yd. Both bids were accompanied by a certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid. The gravel bid items were tabled until Douglas Lindenfelser was present. The Township will notify the above companies about the bids within two days. Glen Benson appeared before the Board regarding a variance to buy less than 20 acres in an ngriculatural dis trict, he wishes to purchase 17 acres. He also wishes to split his 5 acre parcel to 3.9 acres without buildings and 1.1 acres with buildings. He would like to keen the 1.9 acres to add to his farm and sell the 1.1 Pere with the buildings. Motion by William Schulz to grant the variance to buy the 17 acres with the condition that he buy the additional 56 acres of that farm to add to his farm. Seconded, by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Motion by Floyd Roden to grant the split of the 5 acres with the condition that the 3.9 acres be added to his farm, Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, Passed unanimously. Larry sitgsell appeared before the Board to discuss the Civil Defense sirens used to warn residents of threatening weather and civil defense. The nearest siren is in Elk River and is used for civil defense only. The Board will have Lani Will check on the matter with the Wright County Department of Civil Defense. John Clasen did not appear in response to the complaint of junk cars on his lot. The Town Board will go out and check his lot. The Comprehensive Plan revisions were discussed and the maps viewed. The revision is now completed and copies will be made avail- able for the Planning Commissions next meeting. Lani Will was dir- ected to see if Pine Points is still the same business on the commercial property on highway #122 in Section 26, Range 23, and still considered commercial. The floor was opened to new business. Glen Benson asked the Board what was being done on the Larry Backus property in Section 18 of Range 23. He owns 10 acres and has noxious weeds that are going to seed. The Board advised him that the lot was going to be mowed by the Township. There are three bids on the repair work of Oakwood and Needham Avenues and Page Street and the Sealcoating of Oakwood and Needham Avenues and 80th Street. The second bid is from Bitunimous Consulting and Contracting Comrany, Inc. for $10,190.00. The Third bid is from Buffalo Asphalt Sealcoating for $16,150.00. Copies of the three proposals are attached to the minutes. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to award the Bitunimous Consulting and Contracting Company, Inc. the repair work and sealcoating as specified in the proposal. Seconded by William Schulz, passed un- animously. Motion by William Schul7 to accept the bid of Dennis Fehn Sand and gravel for 4000 cubic yards (more or less) of class 5 stockpiled gravel at $3.67 per cubic yard and the gravel tax of $.10 per cubic yard. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed verified accounts numbers 198 to 234, inclusive.
