10-03-1983 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this
County of Wright 3rd day of October, 1983, at 8:00 p.m. Floyd
Town of Otsego Roden, Chairman; Douglas Lindenfelser and Will-
iam Schulz, Supervisors; Lani Will, Deputy Clerk;
Lewis Pouliot, Treasurer; Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Floyd Roden. The
minutes of the September 17, 1983, Town Board meeting were approved
as read.
Kathy Rasmussen appeared before the Board in regards to her
application to renovate Barbie's Cozy Corner into a home. She said
the County Zoning Administrator had told her the garage could not be
located on the south end of the tavern as it would be too close to
County Road #39. The Board presented her with a list of the changes
and variances needed to make it into a home. Some of the problems are:
the lot is too small; the building does not have frost footings; does
not have a drain field; too close to Nashua Avenue; wiring would have
to be brought up to code for a dwelling;ect.
The Board advised her to contact the County Zoning Administrator
and the County Sanitarian and discuss with them about meeting the re-
quirment necessary to make it into a home.
Sharon Jirava appeared before the Board to complain about a neigh-
bor, Cliff Kelso, at 8387 Oakwood Avenue, who has a drain pipe coming
out of his trailer, also does not keep his garbage removed, has junk
cars in his yard and a septic system that is not working.
Also a neighbor at 8360 Oakwood Avenue, John Cairns, whose yard
is not mowed, home has no electricity or heat, and whose son lives
in a camper parked in the yard which has no sanitary facilities.
Wilfred Lueth, a resident of Great River Acres, who lives on the
end lot of the service road along Co. #39 (across Co. #39 from the
Otsego Cemetary) requested permission to drain a depression in his lot
into the County #39 ditch. The Board will come out and check the pro-
posed drainage.
Ilene Thackery was requested to appear in regards to having two
mobile homes on her lot and a permit for only one. She has been re-
quested to remove one of the mobile homes. She didn't appear at the
meeting.
Two applications were received for the position of Dog Catcher
for the Township:
Charles Axelson - 9020 Nashua Avenue, Elk River, MN
David Nicholason - 8244 Needham Avenue, Elk River, MN
Motion by Floyd Roden to interview Charles Axelson for the dog catcher
position, as he has experience with dog handling and has kennels on
his farm for temporary use. Seconded by William Schulz, passed un-
animously.
Motion by William Schulz to pay the lodging and travel expense
of Supervisors Floyd Roden and Douglas Lindenfelser to attend the
National Conference of the Township Officer Association at the rate
of $600. for each. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously.
Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed
vertified accounts numbers 274 to 305 inclusive.
On motion the meeting adjourned.
