10-15-1984 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this
County of Wright 15 day of October,' 1984, at 8:00 p.m. Douglas
Town of Otsego Lindenfelser, Chairman; Floyd Roden and Norman
Freske, Supervisors; Lewis Pouliot, Treasurer;
Lani Will, Deputy Clerk, and Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Douglas Lindenfelser.
The minutes of the October 1, 1984, Town Board meeting were approved
as read.
Kathy Roberts of the Wright County Humane Soceity appeared be-
fore the Board in inform them of the plans the Humane Society has
for building an animal shelter for use by Wright County. They will
be charging a fee for care and impounding and the building and ser-
vice should not be a burden on taxpayers. The plans were for the
building to be centrally located in the County, somewhere in the
Buffalo area. She inquired if the Board would be interested in
making use of the shelter. The Board indicated that they would be
interested in using the shelter and service.
Keith Evenson appeared in regard to his application for a permit
for a home extended business to operate a lumber salvage business.
The Otsego Planning Commission turned down the application because
shi building was too large and closer than 500 feet from the nearest
residence.
Motion by Floyd Roden to table action on Mr. Evenson's request
until the next Board meeting, seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser and
passed unanimously.
James Anderson of Minnegasco Co. appeared in regard to renewing
the non-exclusive franchise that Minnegasco has with the Town of
Otsego which permit them to distribute and sell gas energy within
the Township.
Motion by Floyd Roden to approve an Ordiance granting Minnegasco
Co. a non-exclusive franchise to construct, operate, repair, and
maintain facilities to distribute and sell gas energy within the
Town of Otsego. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unamimously.
The Town Board discussed the per-unit fire contract system. The
City of Albertville has agreed to the per-unit system and has agreed
to service the area previously served by Monticello. A telephone
call to the City of Albertville confirmed that they tentatively
agreed to a per-unit charge of $16.50 per year. The City of Elk
River has requested another week to prepare their figures.
Motion by Floyd Roden to postpone further action on the per-
unit fire contracts until the next meeting. Seconded by Douglas
Lindenfelser, passed unanimously.
On motion , the meeting adjourned.
