02-25-1985 Town Board MinutesSTATE OF MINNESOTA The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this COUNTY OF WRIGHT 25 day of February, 1985, at 8:00 p.m. Douglas TOWN OF OTSEGO Lindenfelser, Chairman; Floyd Roden and Norman Freske, Supervisors; Tani Will, Deputy Clerk; and Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Douglas Lindenfelser. The minutes of the February 4, 1985, Town Board meeting were approved as read. Mr. Bob Lundeen, a realtor, appeared before the Board on behalf of Herbert Lindenfelser who owns a 53.91 acre parcel and is requesting a variance of the "1-per-40" break to separate 16.8 acres with the buildings into a separate parcel. The land is located in the Ek of the NES of Section 34, Range 23. The Town Board requested him to present his request to the Otsego Planning Commission for their consideration at their next meeting on March 7, 1985. Jim Daniels, General Manager of Rite Cable Company, appeared before the Board to discuss providing cable tv service for Otsego Township. Motion made by Norman Freske to adopt the following resolution: Whereas the Township of Otsego desires to obtain cable commun- ication for its citizens, and Whereas, the Otsego Town Board has received a request from Rite Cable Company of Minnesota, Ltd., to provide such cable communications service to the community: Be it resolved, that the Otsego Town Board authorizes Rite Cable Company of Minnesota, Ltd., to apply for a change in cable service territory on its behalf and, following approval by the Minnesota Cable Communications Board agrees to pass a resolution granting an extension permit to Rite Cable Company to construct and extend the Cable Commun- ications system. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. Residents of 88th Street appeared to complain about the flooding of their lots. The Town Board has made a site inspection to try to determine where the water is coming from and where it should drain out to. They checked soil conservation service elevation maps to see where the natural drainage should be. The Board suggested that Mr. Peterson, who owned the land before it was developed and developer Jeff Christian should be contracted to try to determine what land alterations were made that would effect the drainage of the area. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to hire surveyor Dennis Taylor to record the Township roads at $120.00 per mile. Seconded by Norman Freske, passed unanimously. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to increase Gordon DeMars wages from $6.90 to $7.50 per hour for the coming fiscal year, increase his vacation pay from 20 hours to 40 hours per year, other benefits to remain the same. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Motion by Norman Freske to leave the Deputy Constable salary at $4.50 per hour and $20.00 per meeting requested to attend. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Motion by Norman Freske to increase the Clerk salary to $175.00 per month plus $35.00 for the second meeting of the month and each additional meeting called by the Town Board. STATE OF MINNESOTA February 25, 1985 Town Board Meeting COUNTY OF WRIGHT Page 2 TOWN OF OTSEGO Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to increase Lani Will's wages from $5.25 to $5.55 per hour, with a 24 hour week paid vacation and 6 paid holidays. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Alvah Hamlet appeared to say that some of the residents with 295 telephone number exchange that were previously in the Monticello Fire Department service area and are now in the Albertville Fire Department service area were concerned that the response time and service would not be as good. The Board replied that Albertville is actua .ly closer to the area than Monticello and has several members of its department who are employed right in the city. The Board suggested that the new system be tried for a year and if the residents were not satisfied then changing back to the Monticello Department would be considered.
