03-06-1985 Town Board MinutesSTATE OF MINNESOTA The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this COUNTY OF WRIGHT 6 day of March, 1985, at 8:00 p.m. Douglas TOWN OF OTSEGO Lindenfelser, Chairman; Floyd Roden, and Norman Freske, Supervisors; Lewsi Pouliot, Treasurer; and Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Douglas Lindenfelser, The minutes of the February 25, 1985, Town Board Meeting were approved as read. The Town Board discussed the proposed tax levy to be presented at the Annual Town Meeting for the approval of the voters. Last years levy was $200,000 Road and Bridge, $20,000 for Revenue and $10,000 for the Fire Fund. Because of the uncertainty of whether Revenue Sharing will be defunded or discontinued and what the State Legislaturewill do, the Board decided to request that the Annual Town Meeting be re- cessed and re -convened some time before October 1, 1985, to set the levies. The Town Board dicussed the water problems in Otsego Acres. More study will be needed of elevations to determine which way the water should be draining and if a ditch is feasible. The Board felt that the responsibility of the Township should be limited to roadside ditches and culverts put in and kept open where needed, but the drainage of private property should be the liability of the property owner. If a ditch is required, the cost should be assessed to all benefiting property owners. Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed vertified accounts numbers 1 to 23 inclusive.
