The meeting was called to order by Chairman Douglas Lindenfelser. The minutes of the October 6, 1986, Town Board Meeting were ap- proved as read. rb Isaacson, Rahabilitation Consultant for Gordon DeMars, and Gordon DeMars met with the Board to discuss Gordon's current work status. Dr Walker has recommended that he discontinue working entirely and as of September 23 he is on temporary total disability. He has experienced considerable pain in his injured side when driving the mower tractor and does not feel he could handle plowing snow this win- ter. He has been examined by Dr Arnold at the request of the Wausau Insurance Company who supplies the Otsegos Workmans Comp Ins. but a. complete report has not been received as yet. Motion by Floyd Roden to table action on Gordon DeMars disability status until the next board meeting. Seconded by Norman Fresk, passed unanimously. Gilbert Darkenwald and Tom Juergens, a veterinarian who special- izes in horses, appeared before the Board to say that Mr Juergens is interested in purchasing the Ernst Barthel farm (located in the S.E. corner of the junction of Hwy 101 and CR 122) and using it as a loca- tion for his veterinarian practice. He plans on using the exsisting buildings. The Board requested him to appear at the next Otsego Plan- ning Commission meeting and present his plans to them. Members of the Albertville City Council appeared to discuss the 1987 Fire Contracts between the City and Otsego Township. The City Administrator has calculated the contract fee for 1987 to be $9142.00. This figure is based on Otsego's percentage of the departments total fire calls in 1985 which was 51.85% The $9342.00 contract fee will require a unit cost of $22.00. The Town Board expressed concern that this represents an increase in per unit cost from $14.00 to $22.00 in 2 years. Engineer Larry Koshak, Vernon Kolles and Don Leuer appeared be- fore the Board to discuss the Kolles property. The Engineer had laid out the line to go straight east into the Kolles land and then straight north to County Road 39. It was then considered to lay the pipe dia- gonally across the Kolles property which would be a shorter distance. Vernon Kolles thought a diagonal line would create more problems if the property was platted and developed. The Board agreed to stay with the original plan of going straight east and then straight north to County Road 39. Don Leuer, who has been working as an Appraiser to calculate the assessments for the storm drain line, gave a preliminary report. In order to arrive at a $4000,000 plus valuation, he said the 41 homes in the area around Halls Pond will need to be assessed $5000 each, and the next most benefitted area $2000 each while the outer benefitted area about $100 each. On motion t e meeting adjourned. SUPERVISORS gke44 ATTEST Jerome Perrault, Clerk
