The meeting was called to order by Chairman Norman Freske.
Minutes of the April 6, 1987 Town Board Meeting were approved as read.
Gil Darkenwald appeared before the Board to discuss what could be done
with Quaday Avenue. He would like to see it blacktopped, or else some type of
dust control put on it. The Board said they would have Engineer Peter Raadtikka
do a preliminary study and obtain estimates as to the cost of bituminous surfac-
ing the road.
Motion by Floyd Roden to grant Gil Darkenwald a 60 day temporary use permit
to use land at the N. E. corner of the junction of Highway 101 and County 36
for a car sales lot, contigent upon approval by County Zoning Administrator, Tom
Salkoroski. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, Passed unanimously.
Attorney Richard Cox appeared before the Board to discuss vacating the
streets that Elaine Speaker had requested. The streets were laid out in the
Outsego Townsite Plat , but were never built or used as streets. He said that
because the streets were never built and accepted by the Town Board, it is Elaine
Speaker's responsibility to request the District Court to vacate the streets.
The Township does not have any responsibility to vacate the streets or any
authority to do so.
Motion by Floyd Roden to rescind the motion setting up a Public Hearing to
vacate the streets requested by Elaine Speaker. Seconded by Doug Lindenfelser,
passed unanimously.
Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to appoint James Barthel as Treasurer of
the Township until the next annual Town Meeting (to fill the vacancy caused
by the death of Treasurer Lewis Pouliot) at $100.00 per month and .23 per
mile mileage. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously.
Kevin Henry has been operating an illegal business located on Quale Ave.
in the SW4 of Section 35, Range 23.
Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to request the County Zoning Administrator
to take legal action to close down the illegal business of Kevin Henry. Secon-
ded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously.
Motion by Floyd Roden to request the County Zoning Administrator to take
legal action to close down the illegal junk yard operated by LeRoy Karst on 62nd
Street in Section 35, Range 23. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unani-
mously.
Lani Will submitted her resignation from the Deputy Clerk position effective
the 31st day of May.
Motion by Floyd Roden to offer Mrs Nellie Bobendrier $1.50 per yard for the
Class 5 gravel stockpiled on her property. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser,
passed unanimously.
Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed
verified accounts Nos. 77 to 84 inclusive.
On motion the meeting adjourned.
The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this 20th,
day of April, 1987 at 8:00 P.M., Norman Freske, Chair-
man, Floyd Roden and Douglas Lindenfelser, Supervisor,
Lani Will, Depty Clerk, and Jerome Perrault, Clerk were
