05-04-1987 Town Board MinutesState of Minnesota The Town Board of the Town of Otsego met this 4th day of May, County of Wright 1987, at 8:00 P.M. Chairman,Norman Freske, Supervisors Floyd Town of Otsego Roden and Douglas Lindenfelser, Treasurer James Barthel, Deputy Clerk Lani Will and Clerk Jerome Perrault were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Norman Freske. Minutes of the April 20, 1987, Town Board Meeting were approved as read. Residents of Hidden Valley Development appeared before the Board to complain about the road ditches in the Development. The ditches have filled with sand and do not take the water away and drain properly. In some cases the water runs over their driveways. The Board advised them that they will do a site inspection and bring the situation to the attention of Developer Charles. Christian. The residents also requested a curve sign on 78th Street as it is a potential accident area. Darwin Coroteau appeared before the Board to request something could be done about the dust problem on Quahl Avenue. Road Maintenance man David Chase said that he will be receiving more information about a new product for dust control by May 20th. It is supposedly a reasonable cost product. Engineer Pete Raatikka presented the Board with, a feasibility study for the blacktopping of Kadler Avenue from County 39 North to the Mississippi River. The total estimated cost of the project is $90,000 for. a 2" mat. Assessable Units. 24 Assessed cost per unit $1,833.10 Annual Cost per unit $ 273.12 Total Assessed Cost 24 X $1,833.10 Township Cost Annual Township Cost $43,992.00 $46,008.00 $ 6,855.19 Douglas Lindenfelser asked the Engineer if the Township should consider a 3" mat because the Township is having a lot of problems with breaking up with the 2" mat. The Engineer said the 3" mat would cost an additional $15,000.00. Motion by Floyd Roden to table action on the project until the next Town Board Meeting. Seconded by Norman Freske, passed unanimously. Motion by Floyd Roden to advise Attorneys William Radzwill or Richard Cox of the Settlement Conference scheduled by the Dept. of Labor and Industry for June 17, 1987 at 2:30 P.M. regarding the lawsuit of Gordon DeMars versus Otsego Township, and the Wausau Insurance Company, pertaining to Workmans Compensation. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. Lani Will received 7 applications for the Deputy Clerk position. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to hire Elaine Beatty for the position of Deputy Clerk. Seconded by Floyd Roden, passed unanimously. Motion by Norman Freske to purchase a 4 -drawer legal size filing cabinet for the Town Hall Office. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously. Lani Will advised the Board that she has sent a notice to Yvonne Diaz of 14208 N.E. 78th Street to clean up the junk cars and debris on her lot by June 1, 1987 Motion by Floyd Roden to approve renewal of the Off -Sale Beer License for for the Tom Thumb Store. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, passed unanimously.
