07-03-1989 Town Board MinutesSTATE OF MINNESOTA The Town Board of the Town of Otsego COUNTY OF WRIGHT met this 3rd day of July, 1989, at TOWN OF OTSEGO 8:00 P.M. Norman Freske, Chairman, Douglas Lindenfelser and Floyd Roden, Supervisors, Elaine Beatty, Deputy Clerk, James Barthel, Treasurer, and Jerome Perrault, Clerk, were present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Norm Freske Minutes of the June 19, 1989, Town Board Meeting were approved as read. Bids on the Seal Coating of 6 1/2 miles of Township streets were received and opened this day at 11:00 A.M. by Deputy Clerk Elaine Beatty and Clerk Jerome Perrault. Bids were received from Astech Corporation of St. Cloud and Allied Blacktop of Maple Grove. The Bids were as follows: Astech Corp: Bid One: Bid Two: Bid Three: Allied Blacktop: Bid One: Bid Two: Bid Three: 80th Street from Co. Rd 19 to Kadler Ave, Kadler Ave. from 80th St to 85th St. and 85th from Kadler Ave to Jaber Ave. - - 2 1/2 miles - $11,500.00 The streets in Great River Acres - - 1 1/2 miles - $ 7,200.00 The streets in Halls Addition - - 2 1/2 miles - $12,500.00 TOTAL BID $31,200.00 $15,384.00 $ 9,232.00 $15,384.00 TOTAL BID $40,000.00 The Bids will be considered by the Town Board this evening during the Town Board Meeting. Judy Hudson appeared before the Board in regard to employment in the Town Hall Office assisting Elaine Beatty. She will be available Fridays during July and then after August 1 as needed. The Board offered her a starting wage of $6.75 per hour. Motion by Norman Freske to hire Judy Hudson as an assistant to Elaine Beatty starting with Fridays in July, after August 1, as needed, to be reviewed in September. The starting wage will be $6.75 per hour. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. Wayne Thell appeared before the Board in regard to his application for a Conditional Use Permit for a Home Extended Business of manufacturing metal TV mounting brackets. All material will be kept inside. He has a 5 acre lot at 14186 - 62nd St. NE. It will be a family operated business. Motion by Douglas Lindenfelser to approve a Conditional Use Permit for the Home Extended Business of Wayne Thell, contingent upon approval of the Otsego Planning Commission. Seconded by Floyd Roden, Douglas Lindenfelser and Floyd Roden voted in favor of the Motion, Norman Freske abstained. The Board discussed the drainage problem of Pearl Adams of 14107 - 78th St. in Walesch Estates. The ditch could be improved by using the Township grader. Pearl Adams will need a driveway calvert and also her neighbor, Stanley Lindrud. The Board will have Dave Chase and Ken Shierts check the project and get a cost estimate on the backhoe work needed for the project from Ken Shierts. The Board will meet with Mrs. Adams and Mr. Lindrud and tell them of their plans before proceeding with the project. Motion by Norman Freske to table a decision on the Adams Drainage Problem at this time. Seconded by Floyd Roden, all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. In regard to the bids for the 1000 gal. L.P. Gas Tank that is 60% full: Cash Gas Inc. has submitted a bid of $777.00 for the tank and re- imbursement to the Township for the L.P. Gas in the tank at the same rate they paid for it. Beaudry Oil and L.P. CO. submitted a bid of $826.00 for the tank and the L.P. gas in the tank. Elk River Floral submitted a bid of $600.00 for the tank and the L.P. gas in the tank. Motion by Norman Freske to accept the bid of Cash Gas Inc. for the tank and L.P. gas it contains. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. The Board reviewed the Seal Coating bids submitted by Astech Corp. and Allied Blacktop. Motion by Floyd Roden to accept the bids of Astech Corp. to do all three projects. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. Motion by Floyd Roden to send notices to the following people: Mitchell Whitley, of 7976 LaBeaux Ave, to remove the old refrigerator and couch in their yard and mow the grass. Thorp Loan and Thrift Co., of 2626 E 82nd St., Bloomington, MN, to remove or repair the abandoned mobile home on Lot 8 Block 1, STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF WRIGHT PAGE 3 - TOWN OF OTSEGO TOWN BOARD MEETING JULY 3, 1989 TOWN OF OTSEGO Vasseurs 2nd Addition, and mow the grass. Tim Peterson, of 2460 Rum Rivers Dr, Anoka, to mow the grass on Lot 1, B1 1, Ostego Acres. Seconded by Douglas Lindenfelser, all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. Motion by Norman Freske to approve renewal of the Off - Sale Liquor License for Riverview Liquorette owned by Warren Phillips. Seconded by Floyd Roden, all Board Members voted in favor of the motion. Proceeding as a Board of Audit, the Town Board audited and allowed verified Accounts Nos. 353 to 396 inclusive. On motion the meeting adjourned. ,NORMAN F.
