COUNTY OF WRIGHT Otsego held an interview session
CITY OF OTSEGO this 8 day of July, 1992, at 700 PM
with prospective candidates for the
position of Alternate Planning Commission Member. Norman
Freske, Mayor, Doug Lindenfelser, Floyd Roden, Larry Fournier
and Ron Black, Council Members, and Jerome Perrault, Clerk,
were present.
The interview session was called to order by Mayor
Norman F. Freske.
The first candidate to be interviewed was Joan Nichols
of 13371 77th Street. She said she has been a resident of
Otsego for 2 years and formerly lived in Minnetonka. She is
employed by a title insurance company. She said that she has
been attending Planning Commission Meetings for the past 3 to
4 months and is familiar with it's operation and what her
duties would be.
The second candidate interviewed was Vern Heidner of
13922 91st Street. He said he had lived in Otsego for 2
years and was a former resident of Mound. He is an
electrical engineer by profession and formerly was the part
owner of a business. He said he has since sold his stock in
the business and is now retired. He has the time to devote
to be being on the Planning Commission and has been attending
Planning Commission Meetings. When asked what his goals
would be for Otsego, he replied that the City needs
Commercial development along Hwy 101.
The next candidate interviewed was Thomas Baillargeon of
28 NE Red Cedar Trail in Riverbend Park. He said he has
lived in Otsego for 4 years and is a former resident of Coon
Rapids. While a resident of Coon Rapids, he served as a
voluntary probation officer in Anoka County and on a sub-
committee for County Corrections. He owns and operates his
own business of blacktopping driveways.
The next candidate interviewed was Arleen Nagel of 8102
Needham Avenue. She said she has lived in Otsego for 11
years and is employed as an office manager for a dental
office. She has 22 years of experience in business
management and was instrumental in organizing the 85th Street
water drainage project. When asked what she saw as a goal
for Otsego, she said the need for commercial development
along Hwy 101.
A decision on the choice for the Alternate Planning
Commission Member will be announced at the July 13, 1992,
Council Meeting.
