COUNTY OF WRIGHT Otsego held a Special City Council
CITY OF OTSEGO Meeting this 17 day of August, 1992,
at 3:30 PM. Norman F. Freske,
Mayor, Doug Lindenfelser, Larry Fournier and Ron Black,
Council Members, Jerome Perrault, Clerk, Elaine Beatty,
Deputy Clerk/Zoning Administrator, and Judy Hudson,
Secretary, were present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman F.
Freske.
Motion by Ron Black to table consideration of quotes on
the new City Hall until Architect Don Meinhardt is present.
Seconded by Doug Lindenfelser, all Council Members voted in
favor of the motion.
The Council will request Don Meinhardt to be present at
the August 20, 1992, Special Council Meeting.
Jerome Perrault reported to the Council that he and
Treasurer James Barthel had met with officials at the Bank of
Elk River and were advised that the Bank would be willing to
purchase Bank Qualified Bonds from the City of Otsego to
finance part of the cost of building the new City Hall. The
Otsego Economic Development Authority would be the issuing
authority rather than the City Council.
The Security State Bank of St. Michael has also
expressed an interest in providing financing for the new City
Hall.
Motion by Doug Lindenfelser to request James Barthel and
Jerome Perrault to meet with Security State Bank officials to
discuss financing. Seconded by Ron Black, all Council
Members voted in favor of the motion.
Concerning the name of the new school that the Elk River
School District is planning on building in Otsego, Elaine
Beatty said she had talked to School Board Member Tim Kelly
and explained to him that both the Otsego City Council and
Otsego Vision Committee think the new school should be named
the Otsego School because of the historical significance of
the name.
Motion by Ron Black to adopt the Resolution recommending
that the new school in Otsego be named the Otsego School.
Seconded by Larry Fournier, all Council Members voted in
favor of the motion.
