COUNTY OF WRIGHT Otsego held a Special Council
CITY OF OTSEGO Meeting this 9 day of June, 1993, at
at 7:30 P.M. Norman F. Freske, Mayor, Doug Lindenfelser,
Floyd Roden, Larry Fournier and Ron Black, Council Members,
and Jerome Perrault, Clerk were present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman F.
Freske. The purpose of the meeting was to interview
candidates for the maintenance position. The first'
candidate interviewed was Thomas Phillips, a resident of
Otsego, who is currently employed in the plumbing and heating
business. He has had experience operating heavy construction
equipment while in the Navy and has had gas and diesel
mechanic experence.
The second candidate interviewed was Curt Otterness, a
resident of Otsego who is currently a self-employed truck
driver. He has had experience operating heavy construction
equipment and mechanic experience.
The third candidate interviewed was Carl Freund who is
an Otsego resident and had experience operating heavy
construction equipment in the Marine Corp. He has a truck
drivers license with truck driving experience and has had
building maintenance experience.
The fourth candidate interviewed was Kevin Osowski,
a resident of Elk River, who has had heavy construction
equipment operating experience, also building maintenance and
groundskeeping experience, and mechanic experience.
The fifth candidate interviewed was William Schmidt, a
resident of Monticello, who is currently employed as a diesel
and heavy construction equipment mechanic for Ziegler, Inc.
He also has some operating experience, electrical and
plumbing experience, and has a Class A truck drivers license.
The sixth candidate interviewed was David Stoddar, a
resident of Otsego, who is currently employed by the Hennepin
Co. Public Works Dept. He has heavy equipment operating
experience, some mechanic experience and a Class A truck
drivers license.
The seventh candidate interviewed was Joel Kolles, a
resident of Albertville who was born in and raised in Otsego.
He is currently employed as a gas diesel mechanic and has had
heavy equipment operating and truck driving experience.
The eigth candidate interviewed was Mike Zappa, a
resident of Elk River, who has truck driving experience with
a Class A license, mechanic experience and has operated many
kinds of heavy construction equipment.
The ninth candidate interviewed was Jeff Biese, a
resident of Isanti, who has a Class A truck drivers license,
has operated heavy construction equipment, and has some
building maintenance experience.
The tenth candidate interviewed was Tim Jensen a
resident of Monticello, who has heavy construction equipment
operating experience, farm equipment operating experience,
and some building maintenance experience.

Motion by Larry Fournier to hire Curt Otterness,
contingent upon a reference check. Seconded by Ron Black.
Larry Fournier, Ron Black and Floyd Roden voted in favor of
the motion, Norman F. Freske and Doug Lindenfelser were
opposed, the motion passed. On motion the meeting adjourned.
