AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff recommends the City Council approve plans and specifications and authorize the bid process. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: Plans and specifications have been prepared for drilling the new Well #10 at Pump House #4. Phase one of the project consists of drilling and testing a municipal well. Next year, Phase two of the project will include the power supply, pump(s), motor, raw water line connection, SCADA, and site improvements will be completed. The reason for the two-phase project is to determine the capacity of the well prior to completing design of the pumps. Advertisement will occur July 26 through August 16 with bids opened August 16. Council consideration to award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder will be at the City Council meeting on August 22. Completion date of work will be December 21, 2022. The estimated the project costs are $225,780 in 2022 and $1,150,000 in 2023. The Public Works Subcommittee reviewed this information at their July 20 meeting and recommended consent agenda consideration at an upcoming City Council meeting.
