CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP
WITH SHERIFF MILLER

1. Mayor Fournier calls the Workshop to order.
Mayor Fournier called the Workshop to order at 5:35.
Roll Call: Mayor Larry Fournier; Counciimembers: Vem Heidner, Jessica
Stockamp, Mark Thorsted and Tom Darkenwald; Sheriff Gary Miller and from the Police
Commission were Edgar Pearsall and Joel Torkelson.
Staff: Mike Robertson, City Administrator; Judy Hudson and City Clerk.
2 Annual meeting with Sheriff reviewing , lice sem.
Sheriff Miller said the additional officer starts October 1, 2007 bringing the total hours
to 40 per day. There are currently thirteen cities in Wright County that contract with
the Sheriff. Wright County has a total of 138 officers. They are seeing an increase in
auto theft throughout the County. The Council discussed the areas in Otsego where
they are receiving complaints, mainly traffic related. Sheriff Miller is aware of them.
Sheriff Miller said his staff likes the new office in the new Public Works Building. He is
looking as using this as a sub -base and staffing a detective there one day a week.
Council agreed that overall, everything is going well and likes the service the Sheriffs
Office is providing.
