Primary Objective of Position
Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Manager and Leader, this position assists in the
coordination and supervision of programs, activities and usage of the parks within the City.
Essential Functions of the Position
•S Participate in the development and implementation of the lesson plans which emphasize fun and
the basic skills of the sport/program
d• Participate in scheduled staff meetings; contribute ideas and suggestions for the program
❖ Assure all supplies distributed are maintained well and returned at the end of the program
❖ Instruct programs using positive techniques and clear guidelines to maintain a relaxed, orderly
atmosphere
❖ Work with participants in a group setting to learn specific skills
❖ Assure class begins and ends at the designated time
Maintain attendance rosters
❖ Be knowledgeable about all accident and emergency procedures. Assure all situations are
handled safely and all necessary reports are completed promptly
❖ Respond to parent's questions and comments with positive interactions
❖ Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor/leader
d• Cleanup before and after program
Minimum Qualifications
❖ At least 15 years of age or over
❖ Experience working with young children
❖ Ability to work with and get along with others
❖ Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
4'+ Ability to work well with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
❖ Possess and maintain a driver's license
