AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff recommends the City Council approve the purchase of a City of Otsego monument sign. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: The 2022 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) included funding for City of Otsego monument signage within the roundabout at CSAH 39 and CSAH 42. Initiation of this project had been delayed in 2022 until the City’s Wayfinding Study was far enough along to ensure consistency between signage brandings. The concept design of the proposed sign aligns with the City’s Wayfinding Study. The sign is approximately 10 feet in width and 6 feet in height. The sign will be single sided and face the east, which welcomes people into the City from the Trunk Highway 101 interchange. City staff will be responsible for installation of the sign, with timing of installation dependent upon fabrication and delivery timelines and weather. The Administrative Subcommittee has discussed this signage at multiple meetings during 2021 and 2022, with the most recent discussion at the October 12, 2022, meeting, where there was recommendation for City Council consent agenda consideration.
