Call to Order.
Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Kitty Baltos Angi Hilde, Matt Killam and Liz
Benoit and Corey Tanner.
Absent: Commissioners Jim Breitbach and Laurie Jones
City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp and Council Member Brittany Moores.
Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director; Nick Jacobs, Parks and Recreation
Operations Coordinator and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Coordinator.
1.Open Forum.
2.Consider Agenda Approval.
Commissioner Baltos motioned to approve the amended agenda.
Seconded by Commissioner Killam. All in favor. Motion carried.
3.Consider Meeting Minutes.
3.1 January 18, 2022 Regular Meeting Minutes.
Commissioner Hilde motioned to recommend to the City Council to
approve all meeting minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner
Benoit. All in favor. Motion carried.
4.Unfinished Business.
4.1 Carrick’s Landing River Access Improvements.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant once again introduced Gabrielle Grinde from
HkGI who reviewed the River Access improvement concept plans.
After discussion, the commissioners agreed to request Parks and Recreation Director
Demant to research and provide cost estimates for solar lighting for the shelter and
kiosk area. The commissioners also discussed to possibly add a floating dock in the
phase II river access improvements.
Commissioner Baltos motioned to recommend to the City Council that staff
proceed to gather and provide cost estimates using the Carrick Landing River
Access Concept Plan. Seconded by Commissioner Killam. All in favor. Motion
carried
4.2 School Knoll Park Improvements.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant introduced Gabrielle Grinde from HkGI who
reviewed School Knoll Park Projects
ITEM 3.1
After discussion, the commissioners supported the changes in the park concept plan
and requested Parks and Recreation Director Demant to bring options of different
playground structure plans to the next meeting.
Commissioner Hilde motioned to recommend to the City Council that staff
proceed with obtaining playground structure options using the concept
design. Seconded by Commissioner Tanner. All in favor. Motion carried
5. New Business.
6. Parks and Recreation Update.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented parks update. Parks and Recreation
Operations Coordinator Jacobs presented updates on park maintenance and discussed
the Otsego Shade Program. Recreation Coordinator Schwecke presented recreation
update.
7. City Council Reports.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp presented City Council Report.
8. Adjourn.
Commissioner Baltos motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Chair Dehn
All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 7:51 P.M.
