AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff is recommending the City Council accept quotes for the East-West Interconnect Booster Station Improvements. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: Implementation of the East-West Water Interconnect is underway, and the Booster Station Improvements professional services agreement (August 2022) has completed the Quote Phase. Proposals were sought from four electrical contractors based on final design documents issued by AE2S. Quotes ranged from $116,832 to $168,887 and within engineers estimate of $143,000. Engineering and Operations Staff have reviewed the proposals recommending the low quote by Erickson Electric Company Inc. including services and equipment at $116,832. The responsible contractor has completed past electrical projects for the City providing consistent and satisfactory work. Award of the proposal ensures project timelines remain intact identified as October 31, 2023, substantial completion. The Booster Station Improvements Project had an Engineering Estimate of $475,000. As quoted/purchased items are summarized below: Generator: $72,465.00 Integrator & Instrumentation: 44,700.00 Electrical Contractor: 116,832.00 Project Engineering: 115,000.00 Total: $348,997.00 The Public Works Subcommittee reviewed this information at their February 22 meeting and recommended consent agenda consideration by the City Council. A total of four (4) quotes were received for the project. Pursuant to our review of the quotes received, it appears that all were completed in accordance with the requirements of the Request for Quotes (RFQ). A summary of the Quote Tabulation is below for your reference.
