SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
OTSEGO PRAIRIE CENTER
July 22, 2014
Call to Order.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM.
Roll Call: Mayor Jessica Stockamp; Councilmembers: Vern Heidner, Doug Schroeder, Jason
Warehime and Tom Darkenwald.
Staff: Lori Johnson, City Administrator; Dan Jordet, Administrative Services Director; Daniel
Licht, City Planner and Tami Loff, City Clerk.
1. Fire Service Discussion.
City Administrator Johnson reviewed the current fire service contracts with each service
provider. City Administrator Johnson stated the Rogers agreement has not been updated since
1997 and may need language changes. The City Council agreed and directed City Administrator
Johnson to send a letter to the City of Rogers to start the process and to discuss the method of
calculating the fee. There was concern that the additional building in the area would arbitrarily
increase the fee beyond a reasonable amount.
There was discussion on the Insurance Service Office (ISO) ratings for Otsego service
providers; City Administrator Johnson provided information on the ISO fire protection rating
system.
An update was given on recent actions from the Albertville Otsego Joint Fire Committee
meeting. There was discussion on a potential joint powers agreement with Albertville and the
boundary map and line adjustment. The City Council agreed to wait for further discussion.
2. Adjourn.
CM Darkenwald motioned to adjourn. Seconded by CM Warehime. All in
favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 7:15 PM.
