Item 3.1 03-14-23 Public Safety Meeting MinutesPUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION OTSEGO PRAIRIE CENTER MARCH 14, 2023 6:30 PM Call to Order. This meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM. Roll Call: Chair David Greeman; Commissioners: Dan Freiberg, John Braun, Gregory Hubbard, Mark Wolf, Loren Green, and Kyle Heltemes; City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp, CM Tina Goede 2.Announcements: Chair Greeman welcomed Loren Green and Kyle Heltemes as this was their first meeting as a new Public Safety Commissioner. 3.Consider agenda approval. Commissioner Dan Freiberg motioned to approve agenda as written. Seconded by Commissioner John Braun. All in favor. Motioned carried. 7-0 David Greeman motioned to allow fire chiefs to present right away, Seconded by John Braun. all in Favor. Motioned Carried. 7-0 4.Annual Business: 4.1 Election of the 2023 Public Safety Commission Chair, Vice-Chair & Secretary. Quorum not met at the end of the meeting. Moved to next meeting. 5.Consider the following minutes: 5.1 February 14, 2023 Commissioner Dan Freiberg motioned to approve the minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner John Braun. All in favor. Motion carried. 7-0 6.Open forum. No comments were made. 7.Review received monthly reports. 7.1 Albertville Fire Department. (Feb.) 18 fire firefighters, currently hiring and interviewing. 17 calls for service. No Average response time provided. Item 3.1 7.2 Albertville Fire Department Annual Report. - 11.14 minutes average response time. Average time on scene: 43 minutes, especially on fire calls. Average firefighter works 313 hours a year/26 hour a month. The chief expressed his firefighters provide a lot commitment to the community. See attached annual report 7.3 Elk River Fire Department. (Feb.) - 9 calls for service. No average response time provided. 7.4 Elk River Fire Department Annual Report. 96 calls for service. 100-110 calls normally, there has been a decrease in call volumes from last year. See attached report. 7.5 Rogers Fire Department. (Feb.) They have six new firefighters in the academy right now. 44 employee’s total. Still working on new fire station which is closer to Otsego. Six calls for service. 10:21 average response time. 7.6 Rogers Fire Department Annual Report. - new engine 2022. working on station 2. 776 calls last year. won the battle of the bases 83 units of blood. saving 249 lives. 63 medicals in Otsego, 93 total calls for 2022. 2021 did 59 calls. 7.7 Wright County Sheriff Department. (Feb.) provided a presentation to the commissioners and answered questions. 7.8 Wright County Sheriff Department Annual Report. - see attached report. 8. Set Next Meeting. April 11th 630pm 9.
