RECOMMENDATION:
City staff is recommending that the City Council approve the hiring for Recreation Leaders and a Recreation
Intern.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
To support the Parks and Recreation Department responsibilities in Recreation, staff is recommending the
hiring of Kali Simonson and Adison Allard for the budgeted positions of Recreation Leaders. If approved,
Kali and Adison would assist with summer programs and building supervision. Kali and Adison have
undergone an interview, reference inquiry, and successfully passed a background check.
To assist the Recreation Department with staying current and inclusive with program offerings staff is
recommending hiring Kevin Martinez Del Acura. Kevin would be the City of Otsego’s first Recreation Intern
and will assist in programs focused on matching current trends. Kevin is currently enrolled at Minnesota
State University Mankato and will complete his practicum with the City of Otsego for his major. Kevin has
undergone an interview, reference inquiry, and successfully passed a background check.
The Seasonal, Temporary & Part-Time Pay Plan outlines a range of $11.50 to $18.50 per hour for the
Seasonal Recreation Leader position.
