BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Plans and specifications have been prepared for drilling the new Well #11 within the West WWTF property. The project
consists of drilling and testing a municipal well and includes the pump and motor as well as site improvements. Next
year, power supply, raw water line connection, SCADA, and Pumphouse #3 improvements will be completed. The reason
for the multi-phase project is to determine the capacity of the well prior to completing design of the pumps and split the
project according to contractor specialties.
Bid advertisement will initiate on August 29, with a bid opening anticipated for September 20, and City Council
consideration of bid award scheduled for September 25. Completion date of work will be March 31, 2024. The City has
budgeted a total of $1,500,000 in the CIP for this project: $150,000 in 2023, $950,000 in 2024, and $400,000 in 2025. This
phase of the Well #11 project is estimated at $299,894.
The Public Works Subcommittee was presented this information at their August 16 meeting with recommendation for
City Council consideration and approval.
