Call to Order.
Chair Kitty Baltos called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Kitty Baltos; Commissioners: Angie Dehn, Liz Benoit, and Matt Danzl.
Absent: Commissioner Jessica Schaffer.
City Council: Council Members Brittany Moores and Ryan Dunlap
Staff: Nick Jacobs, Parks and Recreation Director and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Coordinator.
Open Forum.
Ben Goettsche’s address is PO Box43 Elk River. Mr. Goettsche is the Executive Director of Boreal Soccer and is requesting the city to install lights at one soccer field at the Dale Lehreke
Soccer Complex due to the increase in participants. He stated 60% of all Boreal soccer games are held in Otsego. Boreal would help fund the project. After discussion, the commissioners
agreed to move forward with proposal.
Commissioner Dehn motioned to request staff to move forward with the proposal to research and get quotes for the cost of lighting one full size soccer field at the Lehrke Soccer Complex.
Seconded by Commissioner Danzl. All in favor. Motion carried.
2. Consider Agenda Approval.
Commissioner Danzi motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by Commissioner Benoit. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Consider Meeting Minutes.
3.1 January 17, 2023 Regular Meeting Minutes.
Commissioner Dehn motioned to recommend to the City Council to approve all meeting minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner Benoit. All in favor. Motion carried.
4. Unfinished Business.
4.1 School Knoll Park Renovation Updates.
Parks and Recreation Director Jacobs presented memo and introduced Mr. Tim Solomonson from HKGi who presented the updated School Knoll Park renovations.
After discussion, the commissioners agreed to move forward with the bid process.
Commissioner Dehn motioned to recommend to the City Council to proceed with the bid process for the School Knoll Park Renovation updated plan. Seconded by Commissioner Benoit. All in
favor. Motion carried
5. New Business.
6. Parks and Recreation Update.
Parks and Recreation Director Jacobs presented parks update. Recreation Coordinator Schwecke presented the recreation update.
7. City Council Reports.
City Council Member Moores presented City Council Report.
8. Adjourn.
Commissioner Danzi motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner Benoit. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
