AGENDA ITEM DETAILS
RECOMMENDATION:
City Staff is recommending City Council approval of Pay Application #1 (Final) to Park Construction Company.
ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED?
No No
BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The project has been completed and is ready for final payment. Final Payment is $516,974.91, which includes payment
for the entire project and retainage. The awarded contract price was $468,077.25 making the final payment roughly 9%
higher than what was originally bid. More asphalt was required due to undulation of the street causing some areas to
exceed 1.5” deep as the first lift separates from the second lift causing depths to exceed the 1.5” mill. In addition, some
pothole filling was needed where potholes exceeded 1.5” in depth.
