No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: 2024 Pay Plan: Seasonal, Temporary & Part-Time Positions The City’s current pay plan for seasonal, temporary, and part-time positions was adopted on December 12, 2022 and became effective on January 1, 2023. Proposed changes to this Pay Plan include: - The Recreation Department increases to the minimum and to the maximum hourly rates to maintain competitiveness with the part-time labor markets. - Seasonal Maintenance increases to the minimum and to the maximum hourly rates to maintain competitiveness with the seasonal labor markets. - The Election Judges position includes increases to the minimum and to the maximum hourly rates to retain returning judges and to aid in recruitment of new judges. - The Administrative Intern increases to the minimum and to the maximum hourly rates to maintain competitiveness with the professional internship labor market. 2024 Pay Plan: Scored Positions The City’s current pay plan for regular scored positions was amended with the Classification and Compensation study, on October 9, 2023 and became effective on October 1, 2023. At the October 9, 2023 City Council meeting, the Classification and Compensation recommended a 4.00% cost of living adjustment for 2024 within the scored positions pay plan. This assumption was later reviewed by the City Council at the November 27, 2023 budget meeting, and the City Council concurred to keep the respective cost of living adjustment within the final budget. Each position has been scored by Abdo to assign positions to a pay grade, scores are based from job descriptions. The proposed Pay Plans, if approved by the City Council would become effective January 1, 2024.
