No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: The 2024 Fleet Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes the purchase of a used water truck. The primary use for this vehicle will be to assist in gravel road maintenance but it will be a very versatile piece of equipment that will be utilized by multiple City departments. Staff have requested a quote from Ziegler Inc. for a used 2013 CT660WTM water truck out of their rental fleet. The truck is a tandem axle truck chassis equipped with a 4,000-gallon steel tank. As of February 13, the truck had approximately 75,360 miles and 1,812 hours on it. The quoted price for the truck is $79,662.13. The condition of the steel tank warrants maintenance, and City staff have requested quotes to have the tank and frame painted from Ziegler Inc. and Fehn Industries LLC and received quotes of $16,795.07 and $11,650 respectively. City staff are recommending purchase of the truck from Ziegler Inc. for $79,662.13 and have Fehn Industries LLC paint the tank and frame for $11,650 bringing the total purchase price for the truck to $91,312.13. This total cost is within the CIP budgeted amount of $100,000. The Public Works Subcommittee was presented with this information at their February 21, 2024, meeting and provided direction for City Council consideration of approval.
