RECOMMENDATION:
City staff is recommending that the City Council schedule a meeting of the Economic Development Authority.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) was established in September 1992 by resolution of the City Council. In
addition to the governing resolution, there are bylaws established to outline the regulations of the EDA. The EDA
Commission shall consist of the members of the serving City Council who shall serve as Commissioners during their
regularly elected term of office as a member of the City Council.
The EDA’s last meeting was in January 2020, just prior to the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic. City staff is recommending
the EDA reengage in annual meetings to continue forward with economic development within the City.
At this meeting, the EDA Commissioners will be asked to elect the Officer positions of the EDA, approve minutes from the
previous meeting, establish an official newspaper, and to discuss new business of the EDA.
