Item 3.1 10.8.2024 Public Safety Meeting MinutesPUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION Wright County 911 Command Center October 8, 2024 6:30 PM Call to Order. This meeting was called to order at 8:19 PM. Roll Call: Chair David Greeman; Commissioners: John Braun, Gregory Hubbard, Mark Wolf, and Kyle Heltemes, Alternate Judith Sibert; City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp, CM Tina Goede, Emergency Services Director Rausch 2.Consider agenda approval. Commissioner Gregory Hubbard motioned to approve agenda as written. Seconded by Commissioner John Braun. All in favor. Motioned carried. 5-0 3.Consider the following minutes: 3.1 September 10, 2024 Commissioner Gregory Hubbard motioned to approve the minutes as written. Seconded by Commissioner Heltemes. All in favor. Motion carried. 5-0 4.Open Forum. Dave Greeman mentioned they had a great time and that there was postive comments from the public concerning the Prairie Festival held Septemeber 21st, 2024. EMS Dirctor Rausch mentioned he thought they spoke to about 200 people with 100% welcoming the new fire department. Comissioners mentioned that the attendacne seemed to taper off later in the evening compared with past events. 5.Review received monthly reports. 5.1 Albertville Fire Department. No representatives appeared for the Albertville Fire Department. 5.2 Elk River Fire Department. No representatives appeared for the Elk River Fire Department. 5.3 Rogers Fire Department. No representatives appeared for the Rogers Fire Department. 5.4 Wright County Sherriff Department. The Commissioners, Mayor and the City Council members were treated to a tour of the Wright County Law Enforcement Center by Sheriff Sean Deringer. The Commissioners and elected officials found it highly informative. Item 3.1 5.5 CentraCare EMS Reports sent included September with 11 responses with 8.39 response time. The staffing has returned to normal since the bridge construction closure ended. 5.6 Alliana EMS Did see a decrease in response times some of this was due to construction on 35. More hours are being added to help coverage along with more presence. 6. Emergency Services Director Rausch Updates. Director Rausch had meetings with the Allina’s Medical Director Dr. Nick Maleska who will be Medical Director for Otsego as well. His focus is on the western region. He approves which skills we can do. He also helps coordinate training as well. Bid package for fire house was posted to websites where contractors can view the files. Bids must be returned by October 29th. Once the bids are received, they will get a recommendation from Kraus Anderson. The city needs to accept the lowest bid, however Krause Anderson will review the contractors to ensure they are a reputable organization. Both chassis are both at the factory for the two Freightliners which are the smaller trucks. The paid for chassis are there the bodies are still on order which are poly bodies that are built at a different factory but will be assembled at Midwest Fire Equipment and Repair in Luverne, MN. Construction will begin in March. The other two trucks are a year away from that. Director Rausch will be looking at an electric pumper on 10/9/2024 in Apple Valley, this is not something the city may want to invest in since it is half a million dollars more simply because it is electric. 7.
