AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff recommends the City Council approve hiring for two Seasonal Utility positions. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: Two Utility Seasonal positions are budgeted for 2025. Responsibilities include operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facilities, collection and distribution maintenance, hydrant work, valve maintenance, equipment operation, sampling with process and regulatory labs, lift station rounds and maintenance, meter reads and replacements and janitorial services. Ethan Hansen was a 2024 Utility Seasonal and is accepting of a 2025 return, beginning January 6, 2025. Zach Roca is a current St. Cloud Tech student, completing a fall internship with the Department. Both have undergone the necessary pre-employment screening.
