Hello,
I understand there is a current push for people to speak up about the future fire department and I wanted to
be sure to tell you that myself and my family are 100% FOR an Otsego Fire Department. Otsego is booming!
NOW is the time to build it. I don't think anyone can honestly say that we will never need one. If they don't
think one is needed right now, I'm guessing they will admit we'll need one in the coming years. Why wait? It
won't be cheaper in 2 years or 5 years. And in the meantime, how emergencies can be lessoned? Of course,
everyone thinks a fire won't happen to them. Or that a medical emergency won't happen to their family. But
they do! Personally, I'd like a fire department and first responders to be a little closer for when someone I
love needs them. This plan is already in motion. It isn't new. Why would we put an abrupt halt to this? We
have the land. Let's move forward now and not wait for it to be late enough that there will be
regrets. Personally, I'm happy to pay the $150-$200 that it will cost my family. I don't understand why saving
someone's house, pet, child, livelihood wouldn't be worth that much.
