08-23-05 WSITEM 3_3 CITY OF OTSEGO CITY COUNCIL BUDGET WORKSHOP August 23, 2005, Roll Call: Otsego City Council: Mayor Larry Fournier, Councilmembers Dan Scharber, Mark Thorsted, Jessica Stockamp, and Vern Heidner. City Staff: City Administrator Michael Robertson, Building Official Tim Rochel, Finance Director Gary Groen, Bookkeeper Kathy Grover, and Intern Patrick Waletzko. Building Inspections - Council reviewed'the budget and concurred with the recommendation to hire an additional Building Inspector. The new inspector will be hired sometime between March and May. Council asked that quotes for laptops be obtained for the next budget workshop. Revenues - Council reviewed the revenue projections and directed staff to review whether the Building Department could be charged market rates for rent., Council also directed staff to seek options for refinancing City Hall to generate cash for a future expansion. Council discussed the possibility of increasing the budgeted amounts for the pavement management program and the contingency fund. I Other Business - Council directed Robertson to put setting a Personnel Manual Workshop on the next Council agenda. Council asked that the City Attorney research the title on the Peavey House. Robertson indicated that Council and the Police Commission would be receiving the first draft of the Emergency Plan in the next few weeks.
