Yes No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: The Water Utility Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes funding for continuation of efforts to develop additional drinking water capacity in the “South Central” area of the City. As part of the Drinking Water Master Plan updates, a South Central WTP/Wellfield was recommended. Initial hydrogeological modeling has been completed, which analyzed the aquifer thickness throughout the designated SCWTP Zone to determine the best areas for future water supply wells. The scope of the test well and test pumping program includes: • Four (4) Test Wells & Three (3) Observation Wells – Two (2) Public Water Supply Wells (large diameter) – Two (2) Test Pumping Wells (small diameter) – Three (3) Observation Wells to Monitor the Aquifer During Test Pumping (small diameter) Authorization to advertise for bids was approved by the City Council on January 27, 2025, and bids were advertised January 28, 2025. Bids were opened on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. The apparent low responsible, responsive bidder was Traut Companies and the summary of bids plus recommendation for award letter is attached. A total of one (1) bid was received, all of which were opened via the virtual bidding platform and read aloud. Pursuant to our review of the bid received, it appears that it was completed in accordance with the bidding requirements. A bid tabulation is enclosed with this letter for your review.
