RECOMMENDATION:
City staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution appointing advisory commissioners.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City has four Advisory Commissions including: Planning; Parks and Recreation; Public Safety and Heritage
Preservation. On February 28, 2025, there will be expiring Commission seat appointments as well as vacancys to fill.
City staff began advertising in early December for Advisory Commission applicants through the City website, newsletter,
social media, and Star News. The deadline to submit applications was January 21, 2025. The City received applications
from 15 individuals. The City Council interviewed twelve (three withdrew) of the candidates on February 13, 2025, and
directed staff to prepare the attached resolution appointing commissioners.

RESOLUTION NO: 2025-10
APPOINTING COMMISSIONERS TO ADVISORY COMMISSIONS
WHEREAS, the City has established advisory commissions including the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation
Commission, Heritage Preservation Commission and Public Safety Commission; and
WHEREAS, individuals are appointed to serve on these advisory commissions in accordance with the City Code and
bylaws of each body and at the discretion of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the terms of certain individuals appointed to these advisory commissions will expire on February 28, 2025;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council must make appointments to the new terms of these advisory commission positions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. That the following appointments are hereby made to the respective City advisory commission:
Planning Commission
▪ Alan Offerman for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
▪ Jill Metzger for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
Heritage Preservation Commission
▪ Toni Seroshek for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
Public Safety Commission
▪ Judith Sibert for the term expiring February 29, 2028.
▪ Dan Freiberg for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
▪ Rossamon Becker (Alternate) for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
Parks and Recreation Commission
▪ Angie Dehn for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
▪ Joe Tyberghein (Alternate) for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
