MEETING

Tuesday, March 11, 2025
7:00 PM
Call to Order.
This meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair: Toni Seroshek, Commissioners Jim Penick, Kelly Kiffmeyer, Brooke Nault,
and Tami Stinski.
City Council: Councilmember Tanner and Councilmember Lund
1.Consider Agenda Approval:
Commissioner Nault to approve the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner
Stinski. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0.
2.Consider the following minutes:
2.1 November 13, 2024.
Commissioner Kiffmeyer motioned to approve the minutes as written, seconded by
Commissioner Stinski. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0.
3.Annual Business:
3.1 Election of 2025 Heritage Preservation Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary
Commissioner Seroshek nominates Commissioner Stinski for Chair. Commissioner Kiffmeyer
nominated for Vice Chair. Commissioner Nault to continue as secretary. Motioned to
approve by Nault. Seconded by Commissioner Penick. Motion carried 5-0.
4.New ideas- cemetery tour and/or memorials
Cemetery Tour-
Commissioner Kiffmeyer discussed highlighting veterans in the cemetery and the potential
of providing plaques of veterans on Memorial Day. Commissioners Kiffmeyer and Nault will
collaborate on finding more information about those buried here.
1912 Barn-
Commissioner Penick will take the lead by contacting Kathy Beaudry to get permission to
video and take photos of the barn and provide an oral history. Penick asked if there is drone
access to take aerial photos. Council member Tanner will check into the drone option and
availability. Commissioner Seroshek mentioned that the story of how the barn was built is
very interesting and it would be great to get this documented and have a poster board
made to put up in Prairie Center.
Item 3.1
Old City Hall-
Councilmember Lund asked what the Old City Hall was being used for. Commissioner Seroshek
advised it is being used for cold storage and Gifts Anonymous. Lund expressed interest in
having the Old City Hall made into a museum. Commissioner Seroshek mentioned resistance to
this in the past due to cost of staffing, funding, and road access. Lund will check into the road
situation and opposition/resistance on making this a preserved historical landmark.
5. AI transcription
Commissioner Seroshek has not be able to spend more time on AI transcription yet, asking for a
proof-reader. Commissioner Kiffmeyer offered assistance on the matter.
6. Updates
6.1 Updates on City Council actions.
Councilmember Tanner updated OHPC on City Council Action Items.
6.2 Updates on Heritage Preservation items.
9/10-9/12 New Ulm SHPO Conference.
MN Digital Library: Wright county historical society did a recent upload of Wright County
Schools.
File retention: Store digital files on the computer and all the boxes/tubs over at Public Works.

Commissioner Penick motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:11 PM, seconded by
Commissioner Nault. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0.
