Wright County Sheriff ’s Department: Corporal Blitz reported. There has been an uptick in calls at NorthStar in the past three weeks. The manager has been proactive working with them to see what mitigation can be done. The calls have been related to client issues and not staff. There have been 89 calls between July and yesterday. Corporal Blitz also reported on several thefts in the SE region in December. Stolen were a generator, bike and child’s snow mobile. The suspect ran away but a warrant has been issued. Allina Ambulance: Brian reported that response times this quarter improved. They are down 17%. Their medical director will attend our meeting in April. They don’t charge for non-transports unless treatment is provided. Staffing shortages are improving. Chief’s Report: Allina’s medical director will likely be our medical director as well. He has been updating the staffing plan. Reviewing historical records, it looks like we might go on around 850-1100 calls to begin with. On March 11, there will be joint PSC and City Council meeting to review the staffing plan. The plan will be needed for the 2026 budget. A QR code has been created that will take one to the recruitment webpage. It will be on the City website and our fire trucks. The first two (smaller) trucks will arrive in May. The four chiefs will be meeting 2/6. Adjournment: A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0. The meeting was adjourned at 7:17pm.
