Item 3.1 06-10-25 OHPC Draft Meeting MinutesOTSEGO HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING Lily Pond Conference Room at City Hall Tuesday, June 10, 2025 7:00 PM Call to Order. This mee1ng was called to order at 7:00 PM. Roll Call: Chair: Tami S1nski; Commissioners: Jim Penick, Kelly Kiffmeyer, Brooke Nault, and Chris Wilson. City Council: CM Corey Tanner 1. Consider Agenda Approval: Commissioner Nault to approve the agenda as wriMen, seconded by Commissioner Kiffmeyer. All in favor. MoRon carried 5-0. 2. Consider the following minutes: 2.1 April 8, 2025 Commissioner Kiffmeyer moRoned to approve the minutes as wriMen, seconded by Commissioner Penick. All in favor. MoRon carried 5-0. 4. Old business 4.1 Cemetery Tour Commissioner Kiffmeyer and Commissioner Nault will be researching the list of graves for a poten1al tour with a goal of having the list finished by the next mee1ng. Kiffmeyer suggested focusing on the graves that are pre-19th century. Commissioner Wilson men1oned the Buffalo history museum has micro fiche files as a possible informa1on source. CM Tanner men1oned the old township books could be of use - they are in the back room at City Hall. Rask may have a cemetery rolodex - CM Tanner will reach out to see if he can get more informa1on from Rask on those buried in the cemetery.. 4.2. Old City Hall No addi1onal updates at this point. 4.3 Time Capsule Commissioner Nault wrote an announcement which appeared in the latest copy of the View asking resident’s for ideas to share at the Prairie Fes1val. Commission Nault will email Heidi Carey to publish a post on Otsego Facebook page asking for input from residents. Nault also got in touch with Mrs. Roddy (1st grade teacher at Hassan Elementary) who shared the following well wishes from her first grade classroom for the future residents of Otsego: for everyone to be happy and have good food to eat; a big library and lots of trees and flowers. Commissioner Penick requested that the 1me capsule be opened in 50 years versus 100 so some resident’s currently residing in Otsego may s1ll be living resident’s when the 1me capsule is opened. 4.4 1914 Barn Commissioner Penick met with Kathy Beaudry a few 1mes to get informa1on and pictures on the barn. Commissioner S1nski men1oned Commissioner Seroshek’s ques1ons as she was hoping to get more informa1on on the family as well as any addi1onal historical photos. Commissioner Penick will follow-up with Toni on her ques1ons. He also asked where to give the signed interviewee form from Kathy. 4.5 2025 Prairie Fes1val/35 years celebra1on discussion (September 13) Commissioner S1nski suggested bringing out the big vo1ng box for community sugges1ons for the 1me capsule. Commissioner Nault suggested having a large poster board with eye-catching graphics on the 1me capsule. Commissioner Wilson men1oned using Gator board - which is more expensive but resistant to rain. Commissioner Wilson also volunteered to draw / sketch the 1me capsule graphic for the fes1val. We will check on pricing for gator board and what the budget is. Commissioner Kiffmeyer suggested also having a 1meline of key milestones or significant events that have occurred in the past 35 years to showcase at the fes1val. Commissioner S1nski suggested using a ’35 Years Party’ sign to put over the 1me capsule board to draw more acen1on for community involvement. CM Tanner shared the popula1on of Otsego has grown to 23,790 as of 4/20/24. 4.6 AI Transcrip1on/Proofing No updates at this 1me. 5. Updates: 5.1 Updates on City Council ac1ons.
