COUNCIL WORKSHOP
Boll Call: Mayor Larry Fournier, Councilmembers Suzanne
Ackerman, Vern Heidner, and Virginia Wendel were present.
Councilmember Berning arrived at 7:05 p.m. City Staff:
Michael Robertson, City Administrator; and Larry Koshak,
John Harwood, and Ron Wagner from the City Engineer's
office.
REVIEW PROPOSED ASSESSMENT ORDINANCE CHANGES
Council reviewed the proposed changes. There was
considerable discussion over making sure the Ordinance
complied with stated City policies. Staff was directed to
bring some of the Council's questions to the City Attorney
and report back.
TRUNK STORM SEWER STUDY - EAST COMMERCIAL AREA - NORTH
MISSISSIPPI WATERSHED DISTRICT
Council reviewed the first draft of the stormwater study for
the commercial area around the County Road 39, County Road
42, and State Highway 101 intersections. The City Engineer
noted that the study laid out an ultimate plan. That plan
would be implemented in phases depending on development.
The City Engineer noted that some of the proposed stormwater
pipes could be replaced with open ditches depending on the
type of development and the amount of stormwater generated.
There was discussion regarding the varying assessments in
the proposed sub areas of the district. Staff noted that a
decision had to be made within the next few months so as to
provide cost estimates for the First Lutheran Church
expansion in the spring. Decisions would not be need
immediately on other parts of the district.
PROPOSED RE -ALIGNMENT OF COUNTY ROADS 118, 37, & JABER
AVENUE
Council reviewed two proposals submitted by Wright County
Highway Department for the re -alignment of the intersections
of County Roads 118, 37 and Jaber Avenue. Council was in
consensus to direct the City Engineer to communicate with
Wright County that they preferred the second option in which
Jaber Avenue was realigned to connect with County Road 37.
Councilmember Ackerman left the meeting at 9:55 p.m.
OTHER BUSINESS
Administrator Robertson updated Council that Secretary Carol
Olson would be gone on vacation from February 7 through
February 28, and that he would be gone on vacation from
February 14-19. Robertson indicated that he had hired Sandy
Lindenfelser part-time to fill in while Carol Olson was
gone.
With no further business, Councilmember Heidner, seconded by
Mayor Fournier, moved to adjourn at 10:00 p.m. Carried 4-0.
